Adorable Sweater, Free Pattern, Cute Pictures - What's Not To Like?

I whipped up this adorable little sweater for Rei's birthday - I wanted to share the cute with you all and pass along the link to the free pattern!

A link to the pattern and loads of cute pics after the jump!

This wonderful pattern is Cascade, a free pattern sized for little ones aged three months to six years. It's easy, well written, cute, and works up in no time at all! The stripes are my own modification - the pattern calls for a solid colour and looks lovely either way.

I see a future of contact sports in this face.
The knitting e-mag that this pattern in published in is Petite Purls - it's full of free, innovative, adorable patterns for children in a wide range of sizes. Check out their archive for some truly adorable, truly stylish knits!

Isn't the leaf placket precious?
It's knitted in a worsted weight - I chose Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Cobblestone Heather, and Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool in my own hand dyed colourway, Twihard. The buttons are from Fabricland.

Rei is wearing the 18 month size - this size at least is pretty comparable in size to most store-bought brands.

Cat attack! Rei and Eloise are very good friends.
An excellent sweater to wear while perusing one's video game collection.
Too tired for photos!
Go check out Petite Purls! I bet you knitters will find something to add to your list of future projects, and you non-knitters will want to drink the knitting Kool-Aid.
