Crafty Baby Gifts

A friend of mine had a baby a month or so ago, and I wanted to share what I made for her and her little guy.
I had seen these tutorials out in webland ages ago and had been itching to try them out - they make a nice shower gift, and I wanted to pass the ideas along.

This waterproof change pad from Homemade By Jill was a great project - easy enough, but lots of fun. I used iron-on vinyl to turn some lovely quilting cotton into plasticky waterproof goodness.

Add in Make It and Love It's personalized wipes case and you have a gift! The wipes case in particular is great - it's a 100% hot glue project (the best kind if you ask me).

I liked this wipes case so much that I had to make one for myself. We use cloth wipes for R (with her cloth diapers - it makes a lot of sense to go 100% cloth and it's SO cheap) and having a plastic case like this makes bringing wipes out with us so much easier. Hers is pink, because every once in a while I like to give in to gender stereotyping.

You know you want to make one of these.... But photograph it during the day OK? It looks a lot better that way.
